Many traditional rug cleaning tools and shop-bought cleaners can look like they get the job done, but they are not always enough. In fact, sometimes the chemicals they use can actually damage delicate fibres in the rug. The Zerorez Cleaning Process

Step 1
Inspection

First, Zerorez Clean Experts will carefully inspect your rug to identify what types of fibres the rug is made with, and whether there is a concern with bleeding or shrinking. They will look for stains and damage to the rug, take pictures, and discuss any concerns with you.

Step 2
Dust and Dirt Removal

Second, since most of the soil in the area rugs is fine particle dust and dirt that needs to be removed before wet cleaning, your rug will be carefully treated and vacuumed to remove as much dry soil as possible.

Zr Wand

Third, our proprietary Zr™ Wand uses unique water control technology designed to create a high-powered rinse and suction that dislodges and removes dirt and debris from rug fibres without flooding them. This results in faster drying times.

Zr Water

Fourth, our technology cleans using Zr Water - our all-surface, non-toxic cleaner - which cleans without leaving a sticky, soapy chemical residue behind.

Drying

Lastly, Zerorez has faster drying times as we leave less water behind by using our proprietary Zr™ Wand with water control technology, which creates a high-powered rinse and suction to extract dirt and debris from rug fibres without flooding. We also use specially designed fans (air movers) to increase airflow and reduce the dry time.

How Often Should Rugs Be Cleaned?

Area rugs can see a lot of foot traffic and benefit from regular cleanings. Cleaning incorrectly can damage the rug's fibres, cause some fibres to bleed, and leave behind a sticky residue.


Many factors determine how frequently your rugs need to be cleaned:

  • The amount of traffic the rug experiences
  • If you wear shoes in home
  • If you have pets, children, or regular guests
  • How often you vacuum or clean stains

Most experts recommend at least one annual cleaning for your rugs. A cleaning every six months may be needed in homes with pets or for rugs in high-traffic areas.
